Zinstruct has no test mode: every checkout runs through your real Stripe account. To check the whole buyer journey, from paying to receipt to course, make one real purchase of your own, then undo it.
Who can do this
- Owners and admins can create the coupon and refund the test order.
- Anyone can buy, including you.
Before you test
- Settings → Payment setup says Active — ready to sell. See Connect Stripe to take payments.
- The offer is published, and so is the product it sells, with its lessons Live.
- Send purchase receipts is on, if you want buyers to get one. See Purchase receipts and their reply-to address.
To check the lessons themselves without buying, use Preview as student in the course builder.
Test with a 100%-off coupon
- Create a coupon for 100% off that applies only to the offer you're testing. See Discounts and discount codes.
- Open the offer's checkout link in a private browser window, so you aren't signed in as yourself.
- Enter an email address you can read, such as a second address of yours, and the code under Have a discount code?.
- Finish the checkout on Stripe's page.
- Check that the receipt arrives, that Go to your courses signs you in, and that the course is there.
- Archive the coupon so nobody else can use it.
Nothing is charged, and no platform fee applies.
Or test with a real card
- Buy the offer with your own card, in a private window, as above.
- Check the receipt, the sign-in and the course.
- In Revenue → Transactions, open the order and click Refund. The money goes back to your card, the platform fee is returned, and the test buyer loses access.
Refunding a membership test also cancels it straight away. See Transactions, refunds and chargebacks.
Free offers
You can't claim your own free offer while signed in as a team member: the checkout says it would enroll your own account. Test a free offer in a private window, signed in as a different address.
