The AI Advisor: what’s working, what isn’t, what to do next

A written read of your own numbers — sales, memberships, checkout, email, courses, community, website and cancel flows — with the figures behind each point and a link to where you act.

The AI Advisor reads your workspace's totals and writes you a short report: how the business is doing, the few things that matter most right now, and ideas for what to create next. Each point shows the numbers it's based on and links to the screen where you would act on it. It only advises — it never changes anything in your workspace.

Who can use it

  • Owners, admins and staff can run a report. Viewers can read the latest one.
  • Every plan includes a number of reports a month (the page shows how many you have left). They reset on the 1st.
  • Your students never see it.

Run a report

  1. Go to Analytics and click AI Advisor at the top right (/analytics/advisor).
  2. Pick a window: 7d, 30d or 90d. The report compares that window with the same number of days just before it.
  3. Click Run my first report (or Refresh report once you have one). It takes up to a minute.

Opening the page never runs the AI: it shows the last report saved for that window. If your numbers haven't changed since that report, Refresh report keeps it and doesn't use one of your monthly reports.

Reading the report

  • The short version: one paragraph on how the window went.
  • Insights, most important first, each labelled Working, Needs a fix or Opportunity and High, Medium or Low impact. Use the area buttons (Sales, Checkout & upsells, Email & newsletters, Courses, Community, Website, Cancel flows, Content) to see one area.
  • Under each insight, the numbers behind it: the figure now, the change against the earlier period (▲ or ▼, in percentage points for rates), and a note when it's a small sample — early signal, all time or right now.
  • The purple button is the suggested next step. It opens the screen where you'd do it, such as Offers, Broadcasts or Cancel flows. Nothing happens until you act there.
  • What to create next: course, lesson, newsletter, broadcast, post or offer ideas based on your numbers. A newsletter or broadcast idea has Draft it in the Writer: it opens a new broadcast, named after the idea, whose Writer opens with Draft with AI already filled in with the idea. Nothing is written until you click Draft there. The other ideas open the screen where you'd make them.
  • What the advisor can't see yet lists what Zinstruct doesn't measure today (such as newsletter opens or how many different people visit your site), so the advisor won't guess about them.

Tips on other pages

Once you have a report, its most important point for each area also appears as a short purple tip at the top of Analytics (the top point overall), Offers (sales and checkout), Broadcasts (email), Products (courses and content) and Cancel flows. Click the point to open it in the full report, or the link after it to act. Click × to hide a tip on that page; it comes back when a newer report has something new to say there. Tips only show saved reports — they never run the AI.

What it reads, and what it never sees

It reads totals: sales and refunds, memberships (worked out exactly as on Membership metrics), checkout page views, abandoned checkouts, how often order bumps and one-click upsells are taken, coupon redemptions and the discount they gave, broadcast and sequence results (including hard bounces and spam complaints), newsletter deliveries, contacts and tags, form sign-ups, enrollments, lesson drop-off, quizzes, certificates, community activity, page views, site visits by traffic source and cancel flows, plus the names of your products, offers, lessons and recent emails. It never sees a customer's or member's name or email, anything your members wrote, or cancellation feedback. Every number on the page comes from your workspace and is checked before it's shown; the advisor can still be wrong about what a number means, so treat it as a second opinion.

What happens next

A new report replaces the one shown for that window; the last 12 are kept. Running a report uses one of this month's reports only when it finishes — a report that fails, or that the advisor couldn't complete, doesn't count.

Common errors

  • "Staff, admins and owners can run a report.": you're a viewer. Ask an owner or admin to run it; you can read the result.
  • "A report was just run — wait a couple of minutes and try again.": one report every two minutes per workspace.
  • "You’ve used this month’s AI Advisor reports (N a month). They reset on the 1st — or upgrade your plan for more.": you've reached your plan's limit.
  • "The AI Advisor couldn’t finish the report — try again in a few minutes." or "…didn’t return a usable report": try again; this didn't use your allowance.
  • "Could not read your numbers just now — try again.": reload the page and try again.
  • "AI is not available on this site yet.": AI features aren't switched on; contact support.
